Firewalk by Naze-Melnyk Firewalk by Naze-Melnyk
Paint, paper, earth and grass approx 3 sq m

During our last summer on the Isle of Man, we found ourselves in a field with a bunch of hippy types, and participated in a fire walk (walking over hot coals)

I was happy just being a spectator, but my son (then five) had other ideas - "Come on mummy" I felt obliged to hold his hand and go for it with him! He was the youngest participant and earned himself a big cheer. This was a fitting symbol of our our walking out into the unknown and this piece was inspired by that experience.

This is obviously a strawberry/orange swirl doughnut, basking supreme in the picnic grass.

I don't know....firewalking might actually teach me how to effectively levitate. My wimpy tootsies cringe at the thought of fire.

no, it did feel hot though!

We stepped straight onto cool damp grass afterwards which seemed to remove all the heat. Might be effective for varrucas perhaps !
